History says that the Duke of Medinaceli brought the arbequina variety to Lleida from Palestine in the 18th century, impelled by the quality of the oil, the strength of the olive trees and their capacity to produce.
Three centuries later, this variety is considered to be one of the best in the world, and the virtue of extra virgin arbequina oil remains intact.
